Specialized Proprietary Fox Auto Sag

Fox Auto Sag

Fox has paired up with Specialized once again to create a new "Auto Sag" feature.  Simply over inflate the shock, sit on the bike and release the air valve and it'll set the pressure just right for your weight.  Genius.

Tioga Zero Pedal

Tioga Zero Pedal

Apparently fat is out and everyone want's to be the thinnest.  Tioga's new Zero Pedal aims to be just that.  Realizing that you can only be so thin with an axle, they have just gone and done away with it all together and moved to an outboard bearing system giving the pedal a thickness of just 7mm at it's thickest point and 4mm at it's thinnest.

Acros Block Lock Headset

Arcos Block Lock Headset

While other companies are trying to perfect hydro gyros and headsets to allow spinning your bars until your hearts content, Acros wants to stop your bars from doing a full 360.  The Block Stop headset features a tongue and groove system which limits your bars from trying to smash into your frame when something goes south.  Movement is limited to 90° in either direction, so it wouldn't quite keep your dual crowns stanchions from smashing into your frame, but it should work with everything else.

Blown Rock Shox Vivid Air

Blown Vivid Air

While I have seen this many times with Fox DHX Air's and RP23's, I have never seen it with a Rock Shox air shock, let alone in person but on Saturday, opening day of Sunrise Park Resort here in AZ, this is what AZFR Mike-E got to deal with before he even hit the lift.  He pulled his Demo 8 out of his truck, sat on the bike and "pop", instant 100% sag.  Here's to hoping that Rock Shox takes care of it and it isn't a sign of a larger problem with the Vivid Air.

Praxis Works M35 Bottom Bracket

Praxis Works M35 Bottom Bracket

We first noticed these installed on the new Mountain Cycles bikes at Sea Otter earlier this spring and were wondering what was up with the massive BB spindle, now there are some answers.

"First things first... THIS IS NOT A NEW BB STANDARD...but rather a BB system that fits into Press Fit 30 and BB30 frames, Praxis has a new bottom bracket and crank system that feature a 35mm spindle."

Custom Red Ano Stanchion Boxxer WC

Custom Boxxer WC

While I generally would probably recommend against having the ano stripped off your new $1600 Boxxer stanchions for the sake of aesthetics, I do salute those who have the cojones to just go for it.  Such is the case with the red custom anodized stanchions on this 2010 Boxxer WC which I have to say, looks pretty bling.

Late Drop Bob In Decline

Late Drop Bob Kali Decline

Be sure to pick up this months Decline Magazine which features Gnar Gnar Tours own Late Drop Bob looking svelte for the new Kali Protectives ad.  The photo was taken by Justin Miller back in January while in Phoenix shooting Josh Bender as well as Dante and Jackie Harmony for Kali Protectives.  Apparently you don't need no stinkin pros when you got the great pumpkin.  Nice work Bob!

Shimano Introduces the 2012 Shadow XTR

2012 XTR Shadow Rear Derailleur

Shimano has released the newest incarnation of their XTR rear derailleur in a new updated Shadow form.  Featuring a selectable stabilizer build into the derailleur, it is said to virtually remove all chain slap.  The system allows for small amounts of chain growth but that's it as far as movement goes, in order to remove the rear wheel there is actually a switch to turn the system off in order to allow the derailleur to move freely.

Affix 360 Hydraulic Stem

Affix 360 Hydraulic Stem

While we've seen the hydraulic gyro's before which get pressed in under the headset cups providing full bar spin ability with hydro brakes, we have never seen this take on it.  The Affix 360 is a full stem/gyro combo which allows you to remove the whole system by just removing the stem.

Affix 360 Hydraulic Stem

Arcos Hydraulic Shifting

Arcos A-GE Front Derailleur

German manufacturer Arcos has released the first photos of its new hydraulic shifting setup, the A-GE.  At 361.5 grams for the complete setup (Thats shifters, front and rear derailleurs as well as cables) it's insanely light.  But at a projected retail of $2300 for the kit, it's also insanely expensive and probably not something you want to be bashing through the rocks in Arizona.  Check out the write up on pinkbike.com for more info.
