BetterRide has just opened registration for coveted spots in their Core Skills Mountain Bike Camps for Fall/Winter 2011.  These 2 and 3 day camps meet from 10am to 4pm each day to complete a curriculum of structured skills progression designed to help anyone looking to improve their mountain bike handling skills.  Camps are coached by either one or two BetterRide Certified Coaches and are limited to just 8 or 14 riders.  With the explosion in mountain bikers seeking coaching to drastically improve their skills, camps sell out well in advance.  The official registration page HERE and the camps are listed below.

Many top racers are students at the same BetterRide Camps as other enthusiasts ranging from long time riders to “advanced beginners”.   Because the camps focus on the core skills of mountain biking, the drills and concepts taught will help riders of any skill or experience level.   Some racers are finding themselves on the waiting list for coveted spots at camp due to the popularity of the camps with people from all walks of life!   Some communities lobby BetterRide to get a camp in their area, while other groups travel from as far as New Zealand to learn the skills they want on a mountain bike.

5 members of the USA Cycling Team for the 2011 World Championships are BetterRide students.  In the pro downhill Jackie Harmony (who is a BetterRide athlete and coach!) earned her automatic nomination by being ranked 11th in the UCI rankings. Mitch Ropelato was chosen for the team for his high placings at many of the World Cup races in his first year as a pro.  In the Jr. Cat 1 Downhill Trevor Trinkino was the fastest among a qualified pool of athletes at Colorado Crankworx to earn his automatic nomination. Christian Wright was selected to the team for his overall performances so far this season.  In 4 cross, Lear Miller was selected as one of three men to represent the US.  These athletes all took camps alongside regular mountain bikers, all learning the same curriculum together.
