ROCKSHOX BOXXER WORLD CUP KERONITE

Rock Shox has done it again.  The Boxxer gets even lighter, aerospace coating, new internals, knobs and an updated Maxle.

The passion for racing has always been the inspiration for Rockshox engineers to develop new exciting products. since its introduction in 1996 the boXXer has won over 10 elite downhill World championships and more than 66 World cup races. fuelling this passion while exploring the limits, the world’s best riders like sam hill, Myles rockwell, steve Peat and Greg Minnaar have been propelled to fame with advanced technology – like special long-travel dh air spring systems.

French suspension specialists, BOS have just unveiled their updated 2012 lineup, and to no one's surprise, have released their first air shock, the Vip'R.  A enduro specific shock, the Vip'R features adjustable air pressure, volume, rebound and two selectable compression settings that BOS claims are not "lock outs".  Weight is said to be 20grams less than Fox's RP23 and the Vip'R will be available in 7.5, 7.875" and 8.5" lengths.  Retail price is expected to be 497 Euros ($710 USD).

An entirely new addition to our family, the Blur TRc defines what we think a trail bike should be. Crafted from carbon fiber, featuring our proprietary lay-up process, the frame weighs a scant 5 pounds with shock included. Patented VPP suspension offers 5 inches of travel and combined with the carbon fiber frame, chassis rigidity is second to none. The top tube length and riding position are evolved from our climb-happy xc bikes – a bit more stretched out than on our longer travel rigs – but mated to a relaxed head angle that is sure to make any dedicated gravity fiend weep with joy.

Never settling on "good enough", Avid revises the Elixir lineup for 2012.  While Avid has been focusing on the Elixir for a couple years now, it's lineup has become a bit scattered with the XX and XO at the top, the CR and R in the middle and the Elixir 5 and 3 at the bottom along with the last hold out from generations past with the Juicy 3 bringing in the lowest spot.  While the Elixir is an amazing performer with it's "Taperbore" design, it has one inherent weakness in that it can be difficult to get a full bleed done without leaving small bubbles trapped in the front of the cylinder, no matter how hard you tried to get it out. Both the lineup and the cylinder design are completely revised for 2012.
