Colorado Springs, Colo. (August 5, 2011) – USA Cycling announced Friday the 51 athletes nominated to represent the United States at the 2011 UCI Mountain Bike World Championships in Champery, Switzerland, from Aug. 29-Sept. 4th,  including Arizonians Buhl, Harmony, Miller and Nelson.
Flagstaff Biking OrganizationThree trail oriented projects in the Flagstaff area were awarded funding under the Secure Rural Schools Act Title II by an appointed Resource Advisory Committee and the “Deciding Federal Official”, Coconino National Forest Supervisor, Earl Stewart. The Arizona Trail Association was awarded $37,800 to maintain sections of the Arizona National Scenic Trail along Walnut Canyon Rim [...]

Jackie Harmony Plattekill

Arizona's own Jackie Harmony took 1st in the womens class at the 3rd round of the Pro GRT series in Plattekill NY this past weekend while Trek's Aaron Gwin took 1st in mens.  The course was in rough shape during qualifying but came together nicely for the finals.

This past weekend, Leslie and Chris Kehmeier from the IMBA trail crew made a stop in Flagstaff to work with the Flagstaff Biking Organization. After a day of building trails with the FBO, Leslie and Chris sat down to talk about gravity riding and what can be done to accommodate the future growth of this segment of riders. The Subaru/IMBA Trail Care Crew, Chris and Leslie Kehmeier, will be presenting a class on sustainable trail building and then working with us on the ground at building some sustainable trail. This is a great opportunity to learn all about how trails go from concept to a ride; there’s a lot more to it than you might think! Meet at 8:30 am at the Flagstaff District Ranger Station on Highway 89 across from the Flagstaff Mall.
