Before moving to Arizona for year round riding last year, I spent the last 8 years living, working and riding in Chicago. While most people refer to Chi-town as “The Windy City” most working class people there know it as the “City of the Big Shoulders” because of the die-hard work ethic that exists amongst its people. While it is one of the largest cities in the United States and a center for business and commerce, it is the blue-collar people who make Chicago the great city that it is. It is also a “go big or go home” type of city, everything is done on a massive scale, buildings reach higher than anywhere else in North America, advertising budgets rival the GDP of some small countries and yet there is still a way for the little guy to go big. Chicago Freeridemember Chip Henderson has applied this “Big Shoulders” mentality in a new line of blue-collar bike bling from his company Anchor Freeride. Chip was kind enough to send me one of Anchor's park and street bike geared Holdfast XLT Stems.
